Why Rest is Vital for Weight Loss

Less is More when Training for Fat Loss!

As it's Sunday - the day of rest - today's post is about the importance of rest and it's significance on burning fat and helping you lose weight. In order to reap the benefits from the intense exercise, recommended in this blog to lose weight, you must get adequate rest. In fact, rest is just as important as the actual exercise.

During high intensity resistance exercise, muscles experience tiny injuries or tears. The body's response is to adapt and repair, getting stronger and larger muscles, which of course leads to burning more fat and results in weight loss and a leaner body. But this growth and repair process won't take place if you do not get sufficient rest and you will experience poor results. You won't burn fat the way you should, and you will just end up demotivated or possibly giving up your fat loss efforts altogether.

When giving the body an intense stimulus, such as proper weight training, you can't do this everyday. If you did, you would quickly over train your muscles and negate your body's ability to recover from exercise. Your immune system could become so worn down in fact, that you might even get sick. And this repair and recover process doesn't happen overnight, it usually takes 2 days or more, So make sure to keep between 1-3 days of rest between your properly conducted resistance training workouts, or you will be short-circuiting your chances of success to burn fat and build lean, strong, muscle.

So remember to get enough rest between workouts and also sufficient sleep each night so that you can build the fat burning muscle that will help you transform your body.

If you have not started a weight loss programme yet, please select from one of my recommended sites on the right or go to Fat Burning Furnace and start losing fat fast.

Do You Want Great Abs!

Why Sit-ups are a Waste of Time.

Many people spend a high proportion of their exercise time completing high repetitions of sit-ups and variations of the basic crunch to get a lean, toned mid section. While there is nothing wrong with the sit-up or crunch movement, once you can do 10 reps then you are not putting the muscles under enough stress to work them effectively.

In addition, most of us have excess fat covering our abs which needs to be removed before the abs are revealed. As we cannot target fat loss in a particular area of the body the only method to do this is to exercise for fat loss.

I and many others believe there are much more effective exercises to focus on that will indirectly work the abs and the entire core area as well as working the whole body which will stimulate muscle fibres, increase metabolism and as a result burn fat and reveal those abs.

For an excellent programme to get six pack abs and a lean, sexy body, go to the Truth About Abs and see for yourself why sit-ups are a waste of time.

Cause and Effect

For every effect, there is a cause. Take Responsibility for your weight!

This simple law can be applied to weight loss as the state of your body (effect) doesn't happen by accident, it is a product of what you do or do not do (cause).

A lean body and an overweight body are effects. Both of these effects have causes. If you're overweight, you can create lasting changes 100% of the time if you uncover the cause of the overweight condition and remove it.

The cause of excess body fat in nearly all cases is inactivity, poor nutrition with often negative self-image issues. Drugs and surgery can only treat an effect (the fat). Even if the fat is temporarily removed, it will come back if the cause is still there.

Depending on your genetics, you may never look like a bodybuilder or fitness cover model, but you always have the power to improve your body and your health above and beyond where you are today. You can always improve, no matter where you are now and no matter what your genetic disposition.

How?

By accepting responsibility for your situation and then taking positive action every day for the rest of your life to improve it. There is no alternative, you simply have to change your lifestyle! Try to fight "the law" or shirk hard work by looking for short cuts if you want, but in the end, you'll always lose.

Lifelong health, fitness and a perfect long term body weight do not come out of a bottle or needle and never will - no matter what new concoction they cook up in the lab. If you think otherwise you may gain temporary relief from health problems or enjoy some short-term benefits, but unless you alter your lifestyle, you will not be successful.

Remember the law of cause and effect and start changing the cause today with the help of the Fat Burning Furnace.

One for the Ladies

Should Women Train Differently to Men to Lose Weight?

When it comes to fat loss, both men and women can achieve excellent results by following one of the recommended programmes in this blog. But there is even better news, as women have traditionally trained to lose weight using long cardio sessions in the gym or aerobics classes, when they change to high intensity interval training and high intensity whole body resistance training the results can be amazing.

By using the training methods recommended in this blog women can achieve better results, with a shorter workout, saving time and finally losing stubborn body fat for good. In addition, with this type of training you do not get the overuse injuries caused by the wear and tear on the body from long cardio workouts.

However, even with all the evidence that training with weights is necessary for fat loss, body sculpting and maintaining bone mineral density (thus reducing the risk of osteoporosis) there may be some women who are still not comfortable lifting weights.

So what you can do is reduce the number of weight exercises and replace them with equal intensity bodyweight exercises. Some bodyweight exercises can provide the necessary high intensity resistance training i.e. push ups, pull ups and slow squats that will help burn fat and help those women "mentally" deal with this type of strength training. As long as muscles are significantly stressed they will become stronger, burn fat and boost metabolism, thus helping women achieve the body they deserve and desire.

Have a look at Turbulence Training for Women for a fail safe programme to get you losing weight like never before.

10 Reasons Why You Must Exercise to Lose Weight

Effective Weight Loss can only be achieved through Fat Loss

Fat Loss is your aim when it comes to losing weight for reasons outlined in previous posts and to lose fat you must exercise.

Converting to a healthy, nutritious diet will significantly increase your success but to lose fat you must create a calorie deficit, which means your output (exercise and activity) must be greater than your input (food).

The most effective fat-burning exercise programmes include high intensity weight training and intense interval cardiovascular training. Including both types of exercise in your training schedule provides the following benefits:

1. Increase your metabolism
2. Create a caloric deficit without triggering the starvation response
3. Help you sleep better and manage stress better
4. Develop muscle which burns fat
5. Increase bone density
6. Help control blood sugar, improve insulin sensitivity and prevent diabetes
7. Improve cardiovascular health
8. Improve mood, helps relieve depression and increases self esteem
9. Increase mobility and quality of life as you get older
10. Help you keep the weight off long term

Click Here to check out today's recommended programme or chose from the previously recommended sites on the left.

Don't put it off any longer, start your exercise programme today and start losing fat the right way.

The Problem with Diets

The source of your weight loss can be a real problem.

The problem with most so called "weight loss diets" is that you lose weight in the short term but you don't lose fat in the long term.

Weight loss can be achieved through the loss of muscle, bone, internal organs and significant amounts of water. However, instead of lowering your body fat and becoming leaner and more toned, you end up with a massive muscle tissue loss and dehydration both of which can dramatically slow down your metabolism, making you weaker and causing your body to literally hang on to fat at all costs.

If you want a fit, sexy, lean body the weight you lose must be through burning fat.

The only way to know if you've actually lost FAT is with body composition testing. For home body fat self-testing, I recommend the Accu-Measure skin fold caliper as first choice. Even better, get a multi site skin fold caliper test from an experienced tester at a health club.

The biggest weight loss mistake that most people make is going for the quick fix.

If you are serious about losing weight you must master Patience and Perseverance. If you want to lose FAT, not muscle, and if you want to keep the fat off for good, then you have to take off the pounds slowly.

To help you with all aspects of weight loss go to this highly recommended site Turbulence Training and start burning fat today.

What You Must Do to Keep Losing Weight

If your weight loss has come to an abrupt halt you need to read this post.

I hope by now that you have tried one of the weight loss programmes recommended on this blog and achieved great results over the first few weeks. However, if your weight loss is slowing down or stopped completely you need to remember one of the principles given in the first post.

Exercise Variation and Progression

If you stick with the same workout week in week out there will come a time when you no longer lose weight, this is because your body adapts quite quickly to the exercises. To maintain fat loss and keep boosting your metabolism you must have variety in your workouts and progress the intensity.

For best results change your workout every 3 to 4 weeks

By altering your workouts regularly you will also find that your exercise sessions are more enjoyable and less boring. All the weight loss programmes recommended in this blog will help you to vary your workouts and achieve fat loss month after month. However, for a fresh approach and something a little different check out this web site today Combat the Fat to maintain your fat loss efforts.

Weight Loss for Women

High Intensity Resistance and Interval Training is Not Just For Men!

Many women believe that the intense training I recommend in my blog to lose weight through reducing body fat is not for them as they will build large muscles.

This is just not the case as women do not have the physiology to develop large muscles. However, they are able to develop long, lean muscles that will burn fat 24 hours a day and provide that fit, sexy, slim figure most women dream of.

But it will not happen overnight and it will take discipline, dedication and organisation. Fortunately these are usually qualities that most women have because of their multifunctional lifestyle.

One of the main benefits of the weight loss programmes I recommend is that they are intensive, this means they not only give great results but require a very low time commitment. If you are serious about losing weight all you need is 20 minutes, three times a week. That is just one hour per week!

If you want to find out how to lose weight and look great in just one hour per week, go to my recommended site Here and click on the Ladies link.

Too Busy to Lose Weight?

Lack of time is one of the main reasons people give for not losing weight.

We all live busy lives and finding the time to exercise regularly, prepare healthy meals and snacks can be a real challenge. However, you can seriously cut down the amount of time you need to exercise if you are doing the right exercises at the right intensity.

All of the web sites that I have recommended support this view that quality is better than quantity when it comes to training for weight loss, there is no need for endless hours of boring workouts, they should be short and intense to get maximum results.

For those of you who really feel you don't have the time to exercise have a look at this site
7 Minute Muscle where the workout time is seriously reduced to Yes, 7 minutes five times per week. Now if you can't even commit to that then how serious are you about losing weight?

What is more, the exercises and techniques used in the 7 Minute Muscle programme can even be used at home so you cut down travelling time to the gym as well!

So, to start losing fat and developing that lean, fit, sexy body you have always dreamed of check out 7 Minute Muscle today.
